Spring Thunder (May Launch) Postponed

Based on the weather forecast for the Brothers launch site for this weekend, we are canceling the launch and setting it for the following weekend. At this time it will be a three day launch. If attendees want to stretch the launch into Memorial Day, that can be decided during the event.

The BOD would like to say that it was a difficult choice between cancelling this weekend and disappointing and inconveniencing people who made travel arrangements versus disappointing and inconveniencing people who go out to the range only to find that flying was shut down for most of the weekend due to winds in excess of the NAR and TRA safety codes. We are additionally sensitive to the issue of cancelling launches, especially with the issues we’ve had at Brothers during fire season.

Although we are disappointed just as the members are about postponing the launch for a week, we also have a responsibility to ensure our launches are safe. Weather is always an uncertainty this time of year in the Pacific NW, and, unfortunately, it has led to this postponement.

Early weather forecasts predict next week’s weather to have highs in the upper 60’s with sunny skies throughout the weekend. We look forward to seeing you there next weekend!
